May - Principal’s Message
We saw lots of sun throughout the month of April, and things have greened up on our school grounds! It was wonderful to see so many students and community members playing outside. This month our Grade 6-8 badminton players were busy with inter-school competition. Good luck to our players as they approach the playoffs! Active Play for our Grade 1-5 students ended after 6 weeks. Thank you to the City of Swift Current for putting on this fun after school program! The end of April saw a fun Spirit Week that included crazy socks, pastel colours, bunny ears and matching outfits. This led into the Easter Break, which gave us all a chance to enjoy some time away from school.

As always, the month of May brings lots of events and activities for students. Our Grade 2 and 4 students will have the opportunity to complete swimming lessons this month at the Aquatic Centre. Band trips will occur for our older students, with our Grade 7s travelling to Saskatoon and our Grade 8s travelling to Calgary! Of all the things to look forward to, I am most excited for our Spring Family Forum on May 21st. This evening we will provide pizza and candy to students and families (free of charge), play games, and ask parents/guardians to provide our school with feedback. This information will be carefully reviewed and used to make our school even better next year! The month of May will also see the start of the Track & Field season for our middle years’ students. I am looking forward to seeing our athletes in competition!
