Principal's Message

WOW! The first month of school has flown by quickly.  We have had a great first month of school with activities that focused on: getting to know new students and staff members; learning classroom and school procedures/protocols; a successful Terry Fox week; the Riverside cross country meet; and the start of our first SCC fundraiser ‘Dough To Go’. We finished the month by reflecting and honouring Truth and Reconciliation through our Orange Shirt Day assembly with guest speaker Elder Syliva!

When I look ahead into the month of October, I am excited for what is to come!  Our volleyball season continues to be full of action as we have four teams (senior girls, senior boys, intermediate girls and intermediate boys) competing in various tournaments and league games. Our SCC fundraiser ‘Dough To Go’ will wrap up on October 6th.  All funds raised from this fundraiser will support classroom field trips! Fun student activities will be planned to celebrate education week October 20th to 24th. We will be hosting our annual “Get To Know Your Family” night and multicultural potluck October 23rd.  More information will be shared closer to the date.  Lastly, our school will be participating in a Fundscrip fundraiser to raise money for technological upgrades in our school near the end of October. More information will be shared closer to the date.

I look forward to seeing everyone throughout the school during the month of October!

Mrs. Raynard
